Fun on the Farm--Pigs!

Last week we painted "mud" on pigs! I mixed brown paint and shaving cream together, add glue if you want to make it dry puffy.

We found these cute pigs (and some other great farm printables) here. I attempted to make a pig lunch.

The kid's liked them, I need to work on my food art skills! :)

Mother's Day Gift!!

This is my first post!! Yay!! While searching for craft ideas, I keep coming across some awesome blogs. I've been following quite a few of them for awhile now and decided to start my own! I'm not much of a blogger, but I love the idea of sharing craft ideas! So here is what we made for Mother's Day.

We made flower pot picture holder!!. They can also hold recipe cards. Here's the materials we used.

Small clay flower pot
Wooden Flower shapes (I got a 10 pack from our Dollar Tree)
Various colors of acrylic paint
Glitter
Acrylic Spray
Large craft stick
Shredded paper grass (left over from our Easter sensory box :)
Large Gem for the middle
Bee sticker
Mini clothes pin
Hot glue gun
Crayola Air Dry Clay

First my daughter painted the flower and flower pot.I painted the pot with yellow a few hours beforehand, since she is two and loses interest fast. I also painted the craft stick green on both sides.

She added glitter to the flowers.

After all the pieces were dry, I sprayed them with Acrylic Sealer. Next,I hot glued the flower to the stick and glued the clothes pin to the back of the flower, make sure it is as close to the top of the flower as it can be without showing so that your picture isn't hidden by the flower! I made that mistake with one and had to pry it off!! Then she picked out a colored gem and I hot glued that and a bee sticker on. Next we filled the pot with the air dry clay and pushed the flower into the middle. We covered it with grass and let it dry. Then we added our photos!!

We also made a handprint flower that said "If Grandmas were flowers, we'd pick you!". Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommies out there!!
